How to find the best Carova vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Currituck rental & When to go:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your Currituck rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies supply Currituck area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Unobstructed ocean views and wild horses all around at Happy Ours! has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
