Getting the best vacation property experience:
Get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Carova. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Currituck restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book yourrental home:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pet-friendly oceanside home w\/ pool & hot tub on the 4x4 beaches of Carova! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
