Vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in Corolla:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. ManeStay Modern Coastal Beach Cottage, where wild horses roam free! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your trip.
- If there's an individual Currituck beach you crave, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
