How to book the best Corolla vacation home experience:
When to visit Corolla & When to reserve a Currituck rental home:
- Reserve your Currituck vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Currituck area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best rental home in Corolla:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Horse Haven - Carova 4x4 Beach - Canal\/Water Front - Pool & HotTub - Private Lot has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
- If there's an individual Currituck beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
