Getting the best vacation property experience:
When to visit Corolla & When to reserve a Corolla rental home:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. “COROLLA IS CALLING” 4X4 Area ,Pool/Hot Tub, Wild horses right in your backyard! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
