Carova rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to book a Currituck rental home & When to go:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Currituck attractions.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Currituck area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation home:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Paradise at Blue Fin! FREE pool heat open Apr/May weeks and now10% off, 4x4 has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
During your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
