Our top Currituck rental home booking tips:
Find your perfect rental home:
- To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean-view home with wrap-around deck, beach access, outdoor shower & cornhole has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
