Finding the best Currituck vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • To book the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Currituck attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect rental:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 4x4 area beach house with ocean view, pool and hot tub! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Currituck destination you long to visit, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. text the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
