Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Currituck vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Currituck area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 4x4 Corolla, Waterfront, Dock, Wild Horses, Kayak has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
