Please take a min. to read about The Piper's Nest...:)
(SEE OUR TWO VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE THAT SHOW THE HOME LAYOUT! SEARCH FOR: Tour of "the piper's nest" part one and Tour of "the piper's nest" part two... posted by Tracy Blowers.)
Wake up every morning and drink your drink of choice while appreciating a glorious ocean view! Three of our five bedrooms offer an ocean view (moms and dads claim those!), while our entire, sunny, window filled Great Room offers the same spectacular option.
Step onto the wrap around deck to savor, the sight, sounds and smell of the ocean! A fast change into swimsuits and you can appreciate it all from the hot tub!
Our home is the ideal option - all of the benefits of "ocean view" without getting overwhelmed by the crowd and the traffic! How far away is the ocean? Less than five mins.. It's really close!
A big kitchen with a enormous snack bar, where amazing food & drinks can be appreciated while you chat with friends and family. We have a completely supplied kitchen, beach chairs, games, cards, books - whatever you need to relax, it's here. There is a washer and dryer at the home as well (not that you want to do laundry, but you can. :). Savor our nearly 3,000 square foot space to spread out at nighttime and connect during the day. Sun, Ocean, Great Food & Beverage of Choice = Relaxation!
NOTE: IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU HAVE A 4WD VEHICLE so you can effortlessly drive to our home. Our home is on Carova Beach, which is the ideal getaway - far enough away from the downtown OBX craziness without being too far away if you want to experience the crazy! Carova Beach is also a Wild Horse Preserve, so plan on seeing plenty of wild horses during your stay!
We have a three day minimum in the off season; minimum 7 day stay during the summer season.
It's a 7 mile drive down the beach - not a bad commute with a view like that! If you don't want to drive on the beach, there are other options to get you there (i.e. you can use a "park & ride" service to and from the home - there are costs associated with that. I can provide more info for you, if you'd like).
We will give you more information in our "Welcome" letter on tips & tricks for driving on the beach, as well as what we have at the home and what you may want to bring. And, please, reach out to us with any questions. We're here to make your stay just what you need it to be so you can relax and recharge.

Tips to get the best Currituck vacation rental experience:
When to visit Corolla & When to reserve a rental home:
- Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean View, Well Appointed Home. Pet & hot tub fees included in price! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
