Strategies for getting the perfect Currituck vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. C7087 Mr. Sandman Pool, Hot Tub, PETS, Linens, Keyless has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, email the host before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Currituck destination you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
