Please note that pool heat can only raise the temperature 10 degrees higher than the consistent ambient air temperature (60 degrees and higher), and that pool heat systems vary in capability based on temperature and other factors.

**Please be advised that a “video only” security camera is installed outside the home overlooking the driveway. The audio feature on the camera has been disabled. There are no other security cameras inside or outside the home.**

Beach Parking: Parking passes are REQUIRED on Currituck County beaches between April 30 and October 1. This home provides two 4x4 beach parking permits.

We love this house! There is enough room for our family. The only thing I can think of is the trundle bed room the bed is horrible. And the kitchen needs some updates. We have Been coming for 2 years and we love it!!

Another Great Week at 4x4 Paws!

This is our second year coming to 4x4 Paws and we couldn't be happier with the location and facility! The kitchen is spacious and well-stocked for large groups, and the whole. We appreciated the new outdoor upstairs patio set this year and enjoyed many evenings on the deck. The place is perfect for our family (dogs included) and we will definitely be back!

Fun time at 4x4 Paws

We stayed a week at 4x4 Paws. There were 10 of us with 2 babies and we were very comfortable. The views of the beach were incredible and it was a short walk to the water. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable. Be sure to pack water bottles, cleaning supplies, dishwasher detergent and all toiletries including toilet paper. Also, if you like to cook, you may want to consider bringing your own pots and pans. The house had them but they weren’t great and the carving knife was dull. My one complaint was that there was no way to make ice unless you bring your own ice trays. I really think that a house on the beach should have an ice machine and that was sorely missed. Otherwise, the charm and character of the house was great and my family had a wonderful stay.

The house was awesome! May want to get more pots and pans for the kitchen. The skillets were very worn. The propane was empty when we arrived, called the person to bring us more with no response. Ended up exchanging one ourselves. Ice maker would be good. the fridges don't have any. H

We had a FANTASTIC stay at 4x4 Paws! The house was beautiful and well maintained! The location was incredible - so close to the beach!! Amazing time at the 4x4 Paws

This house was amazing. Very large house with all the amenities you need. Kitchen was fully stocked. Pool and hot tub were both nice and good condition. We had horses in our yard several times this week. Owner even left us a welcome surprise in the fridge :) Cant wait to go back..

Capt’n Rook’s 2020

We stayed for two weeks in September and enjoyed it very much. The house was very nice. We felt it was spacious enough for everyone and we definitely enjoyed being able to bring our dog. It was her first vacation and she loved it. The only issue we had and comment would be the gas grille. We were unable to use the gas grille because it was extremely dirty and starting to fall apart. Definitely recommend replacing it. We are very big on grilling so it was very disappointing. This is the reason for the 4 star on the cleanliness of the property the house was completely fine. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves very much at Capt’n Rook’s.
P.S. The bar by the pool was done very well and we thought the owner had done an amazing job on it!!

The Doomed Hurricane Gang!

The house is amazing, with outstanding views of the beach! The rehab to the tiki bar was a nice surprise!!
This is our second year renting Capt’n Rook’s and we have been mandatory evacuated both years. I would recommend this house to anyone, but on a personal note try to avoid the Hurricane season!!!
Also great decks to sit and watch the wild horses mosey by!

This home was stocked with everything! From beach chairs to pool stuff and an added bonus was a pantry with supplies inside! It was a perfect house for 2 families w 5 kids and 2 dogs. The ocean view was amazing and a quick walk to the ocean. The horses must have liked our area because they were constantly at our house and neighbors house. Thanks for a beautiful vacation home!

We had a wonderful family vacation, very grateful our three huskies could join us. The view from the upper deck was amazing to watch the sun and the moon rise over the water. Every day the horses would visit.

Definitely Returning to Capt’n Rooks

We absolutely loved this house and plan to rent two weeks next year! There were only a few minor things I’ll mention, not because it caused a huge problem for us, but I’m sure you would want to know so that you can address the issues. The washer and dryer in the rec room did not work. Washer did not spin to drain water and dryer door wouldn’t shut. The pool furniture was stacked in the garage and not around the pool (also a bit dirty). Also, all of the deck furniture was in the living room. We did come in after the hurricane passed but it would have been nice if the outdoor furniture was put back outside. Please know that none of these things were a problem or took away from the overall beauty of this house. The location is exceptional and we will come back every year as long as you’ll have us! Loved it!

We love the house and the location. We have been coming down for 23 years. We had alot of horses by the house. The only problem we had was that the outlet in the kitchen didn't work. We had to use the outlet in the living room to cook. The maintain man was there and he said he had to call and electriction to fix it, we never saw one. We would stay here again

A great place to stay

Our stay in the house was 5 stars! The house was very clean and everything was as advertised. When we addressed a few issues with property management company (just general maintenance problems) the staff that arrived at the house could not have been any friendlier and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this house to my friends.
