Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the best rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. WH1020- Saltwater Pool! With 4 BRs (Two Masters) Hot Tub and Ship's Watch! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain Currituck attraction you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
